Billy Buckett – A Rock ‘n’ Roll Love Story

What happens when a young man from the wrong side of the tracks dreams of rock ’n’ roll stardom?  Will he get his big break and top the charts?  Can he woo the girl of his dreams?  Will he ever be good enough to win over her class-conscious parents?

Set in 1959 England at the dawn of rock ‘n’ roll, BILLY BUCKETT is described as a musical with drama, pathos, and a delightfully daffy British sense of humour, against the colourful backdrop of the era of Teddy-Boys & Judies.

In 2013 Beenleigh Theatre Group’s World Premiere production, directed by Roslyn Johnson, played to full houses and standing ovations and won FIVE Gold Coast Area Theatre Awards, including the Gold Palm for Most Nominated Production!
Now Billy Buckett’s creators Jay Turner and Cath Mundy in conjunction with Footlights Theatrical Inc and Stagescripts UK reunite 2013’s award-winning cast and team for a special fifth-anniversary season at the Logan Entertainment Centre.
This vibrant all-singing, all-dancing family show is led by Logan’s rising stars
Stephen Dorrington as Billy and Lauren Lee Innis-Youren as Jan and features veteran media personality Ian Maurice as Arthur Burns.
With live 6-piece band The Asteroids pumping out the rockin’ heartbeat of the show, audiences are sure to be dancing in the aisles!

The production was kick-started by BB’s awesome fans &  supporters who raised an amazing $10+K in a month-long crowd-funding campaign via Pozible.

The project was also successful in its application for $8K via the Regional Arts Development Fund,  a Queensland Government through Arts Queensland and Logan City Council partnership to support arts and culture in regional Queensland.
